Our Mission Statement

The Washington Traffic Institute is a partnership of business and private citizens who share a common goal of public education on matters of transportation. It is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to providing our state's citizens with the facts and information they need to make the right decisions concerning public policy.

The Washington Traffic Institute's primary goal is to reduce traffic congestion. We believe that much of our individual freedoms and prosperity are indelibly linked to freedom of mobility, and are wholly dependent on building and maintaining a transportation system that serves every individual equally in the way they choose to travel. Our belief is that a well-informed public is the best way to arrive at the right public policy.

Unlike traditional research organizations, WTI's mission is to act as a clearinghouse for all known transportation information available and communicating that information to the general public via public relations and paid advertising.
